EAST MANATEE -- One adult was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg following a head-on collision Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The accident occurred on Upper Manatee River Road and Waterlefe Boulevard at about 7:30 p.m.
Both vehicles were headed in opposite directions when one veered out of its lane and collided with the other, FHP reports.
In one of the vehicles, the driver suffered a broken arm and a passenger was entrapped, according to FHP. The driver was later airlifted and another passenger, an infant, was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle and two child passengers were taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, FHP said.
Conditions and ages of those involved were not immediately available.
