MANATEE -- While in custody on another charge, a 18-year-old man was arrested for burglarizing an unmarked detective vehicle, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Joshua Rodriguez was involved in taking a ballistic/tactical vest, two loaded 45-caliber Sig Sauer magazines and a camera valued at $1080 from a vehicle in the 600 block of Magellan Drive on March 13, according to a report.
On April 21, Rodriguez was identified from a fingerprint left on the outside front door of the vehicle, the report said. He was interviewed Monday in Manatee County jail.
After being read his rights, Rodriguez admitted to entering the vehicle, but that he wasn’t the only person who did it, the report said. He did not admit to taking anything from the vehicle, adding he was using prescription pills and marijuana at the time of the burglary.

He went on to say the items taken had been sold, and he gave deputies the name of another person who was with him at the time of the burglary.
Rodriguez was charged with burglary and is currently in Manatee County jail without bond.
