MANATEE -- Two men were arrested Tuesday for being in possession of 18 dairy cases, the sheriff’s office reports.
A deputy spotted Joseph Dennard, 33, and Eric James, 30, with the dairy cases about 10 feet away from them as they were standing against a metal fence in the area of the 1600 block of 30th Avenue West at about 8:15 p.m.
When approached, Dennard and James began to quickly walk away, the report said. They then told the deputy the cases were being used for exercise and as the conversation progressed, both said that they “don’t have time for this,” and used expletives.
After being arrested, Dennard and James became “extremely argumentative and belligerent,” the report said, and “they were uncooperative during the transportation process and were verbally hostile with all deputies involved.”
Never miss a local story.
Dennard was charged with possession of a dairy case and is being held in Manatee County jail on a $1,620 bond and James, also charged with possession of a dairy case, is being held on a $120 bond.
