BRADENTON -- A 53-foot tractor-trailer hauling 22 pallets of bottled water broke up when the driver ran over an embankment this morning, snarling traffic on 75th Street West just south of Manatee Avenue.
The driver missed his turn trying to get to the supermarket loading dock and ran over the embankment, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Traffic has been snarled since about 7 a.m., although the south-bound lane was reopened about 11 a.m. Crews are still working to reopen the north-bound lane.
The trailer is being unloaded with a forklift and with work release inmate labor from the Hardee County correctional system.

The accident occurred at the Albertson's in the 7400 block of Manatee Avenue W.
