Marching bands from four Manatee County high schools received the highest marks during the Florida Bandmasters Association District 11 assessment.
Squads from Braden River, Lakewood Ranch, Manatee and Southeast high schools each received a rating of “superior” during the assessment, which took place Saturday at Manatee High School.
The Palmetto High band scored a rating of “excellent,” the second-highest grade.
Judges rated the bands based on their marching and maneuvering, music performance and percussion, among other criteria.
