A 37-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital after a woman struck them in front of their residence Tuesday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The mother learned her daughter was involved in a fight with several people and went outside at about 8 p.m. in the 3300 block of Fifth Street East. That’s when 36-year-old Tammy Bell picked up an object — possibly a pipe — and struck the mother in left shoulder. The 14-year-old was struck in the head, a report stated.
Bell faces charges of aggravated battery on a child and use of a deadly weapon. She is currently in Manatee County jail on a $4,000 bond.
