MANATEE -- Southern Manatee Fire Rescue reponded to a structure fire Friday morning in the 2200 block of 19th St. E.
First responders saw smoke showing from a single story residential structure. No one was not at home at the time and the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, according to a report from Southern Manatee Fire and Rescue.
The residence suffered severe smoke, heat, and water damage throughout the home for a loss of approximately $55,000.
The fire displaced a family of five, which included three children. The Red Cross assisted the family with housing and other needs. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
