MANATEE - A vacant Bradenton duplex was damaged by fire early this morning, according to Southern Manatee Fire Rescue.
About 5:05 a.m., firefighters responded to the duplex, which is in the 4400 block of 55th Avenue Drive East. The first firefighters on the scene found heavy fire through the roof on a single story duplex with both units being affected. Both units were reported to be vacant and no occupants were found during searches, according to a news release.
A total of 12 fire personnel and 2 EMS personnel with six pieces of apparatus that responded.
The cause of the fire. which caused about $80,000 in damage, was under investigation.
