BRADENTON —A 53-year-old woman told Bradenton police officers her purse was snatched as she exited a CVS Pharmacy on Cortez Road, said Bradenton Police Department Deputy Chief J.J. Lewis.
The woman was leaving the store at about 3:35 a.m. Monday when another woman approached her asking for money. When the woman said she had none, the other woman snatched her purse and took off with a man.
Police set up a perimeter near the store at 4302 Cortez Road West. No suspects were located after a police dog searched the area. The woman had no injuries from the robbery, Lewis said.
The robber was about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build and appeared to be her 30s with long brown hair. She had on a red sweater and blue jeans. The man she was with 5 feet 11 inches and also had a thin build. He had short brown hair and was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

A similar incident was reported to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office the same night in which another woman was robbed and kicked in the head after she was approached by a woman asking for money in the 1100 block of Cortez Road in front of Furniture Warehouse, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.
