BRADENTON - A Bradenton police officer used a Taser to stop a suspect who fled on foot after a vehicle chase on city streets, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
The chase started in the 1200 block of Seventh Street Court West, when the officer saw Darryl Bernard Reshard drive into oncoming lanes of traffic about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Reshard then lead the officer on a chase through several city blocks until he got to the the 1000 block of 17th Street West and bailed.
The officer followed on foot, and when Reshard refused orders to stop, the officer shot Reshard with his Taser, according to a report.

Reshard was then taken into custody. He told the officer he had fled the attempted traffic stop because his driver's license was suspended because back child support payments, according to the report.
Reshard, who faces charges of refusing a law officer's order to stop and driving with a suspended license, was released from the Manatee County jail Wednesday after posting bonds totaling $2,120.
