BRADENTON - A 39-year-old man was arrested after he slapped a Bradenton police officer, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
The officer was investigating a report of loud music about 3:12 a.m. Wednesday when he found Alberto Hernandez-Ortega sitting a in a pickup truck parked in a driveway in the 2100 block of 12th Avenue West. The officer asked Hernandez-Ortega, who appeared to be intoxicated, to sit on a open tailgate of the truck while he went to the residence to see if there was anyone who could care for Hernandez-Ortega, according to a report.
While he was at the door, Hernandez-Ortega approached the officer. Concerned about his safety, the officer told Hernandez-Ortega to go back to the truck.
Hernandez-Ortega then slapped the officer, according to the report.

Hernandez-Ortega, who faces a charge of battery on a law officer and resisting arrest without violence, was being held at the Manatee County Sheriff's Office on bonds totaling $5,750.
