MANATEE - Three intruders early this morning broke into a Palmetto house, held the residents at gunpoint and stole a handgun, cash, and other items, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 4 a.m., the suspects entered the residence in the 1000 block of 14th Street East, Palmetto, by prying open a locked garage. Two of the intruders were armed with handguns, according to a news release.
Two residents were held at gunpoint. They waited until about 8:30 a.m. to report the robbery because the suspects warned them they would be killed if they called police, the sheriff's office said.
The suspects got away with a handgun, cash, jewelry, a television and other items, according to the sheriff's office.
