MANATEE - Three masked gunmen broke into house in the 5500 block of 18th Avenue East early this morning, held a resident at gunpoint and stole several items, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The home invasion robbery started about 3 a.m. when the three intruders entered through an unlocked front door and ordered the 26-year-old resident to the ground. While one of the gunmen held the resident to the ground by stepping on his neck, the other two stole items from the residence, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspects fled in an unknown direction by unknown means. The resident was not injured.
The suspects were described as wearing masks, gloves and long-sleeved shirts. Two of the men were armed with semi-automatic handguns, and the third had a rifle, according to the sheriff's office.
