LeNae Jones recorded seven aces, nine digs and 17 assists to lead Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School to a 3-0 sweep of Admiral Farragut in high school volleyball on Wednesday. Saint Stephen’s claimed the match with 25-13, 25-17 and 28-26 scores.
Ashleigh Rodhouse contributed 13 kills and 11 digs as Saint Stephen’s evened its record at 5-5.
The Falcons return to action on Thursday at Grace Christian Thursday.
Bayshore 3, Sarasota Military Academy 0: Jasmine Youngthunder contributed five kills, two blocks and an ace as Bayshore (3-2) swept to victory, 25-11, 25-22, 25-19. Hailey Sauve contributed three aces while Karen JeanMarie had three kills. Bayshore returns to action Thursday at Tarpon Springs

Saint Stephen’s 150, ODA 165: Saint Stephen’s Alan Klenor and Out-of-Door Academy’s Max Coutsolioutsas shared medalist honors with even-par rounds of 35, but the Falcons earned the victory with their balance. All four scorers shot 40 or better at Bradenton C.C. Saint Stephen’s (3-0) plays host to Lakewood Ranch on Tuesday. ODA falls to 1-4.
Braden River def. Southeast, forfeit: Brian Choi shot a 4-over-par 40 as Braden River posted a 169 team score. Southeast forfeited the match because only two golfers available for the match at The River Club. Braden River improved to 3-1 while Southeast falls to 0-4.
Vanessa Yan and Maria Huang shared medalist honors with 3-over-par 39s to lead Saint Stephen’s to victory in a girls golf tri-match on Tuesday at Waterlefe Golf Club.
The Falcons finished with a 171 team score. Braden River, led by Brittany Walters’ 48, finished with a 208 team total. The Cougars, led by Erin McConnell’s 56, finished with a 280 team total.
In boys golf, Sarasota Military defeated Southeast 167-239 at The River Club. Jack O’Hara earned medalist honors for Sarasota Military, shooting a 3-over-par 39.
Lakewood Ranch senior Sophia Falco announced, via her Twitter account that she has orally committed to Vanderbilt University for track and field. Falco was the Herald’s all-area player of the year in the spring after winning the state championship in the long jump.
She competed in the long jump, triple jump, 100 meters and 200 during the past outdoor track season in high school and with her club team.
