Will Kazokas was a double winner for Saint Stephen’s during last Wednesday’s Manatee County meet at G.T. Bray. Kazokas placed first in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, edging out Lakewood Ranch’s Lucas Thompson in both races. Kazokas finished the 50 in 22.75 seconds and the 100 in 51.63 seconds, with Thompson (22.88 and 51.84) not far behind. Kazokas helped the Falcons total 496 points, which was good enough for second behind the Mustangs.
MANATEE
Also winning Wednesday was Manatee’s Rachel Harrington, who cruised to victory in the 100 butterfly. Harrington finished the race in 1:03.09, defeating Rebekah Baker of Lakewood Ranch (1:03.13) by more than two seconds.
Swimming runs in the Harrington family — Rachel’s older sister, Marissa, was a standout at Manatee and is now swimming at Florida State University.
