AIDS Walk: The fourth Annual AIDS Walk in Sarasota/Manatee Counties, to support the programs of Trinity Charities Inc., will be Nov. 14 at New College. Sarasota Senior Living Expo: Nov. 18 at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. Morning VIP ticketed session, 9:30 a.m.-noon, $10 fee includes continental breakfast, keynote speakers, 50 sponsor booths, free screenings, consultations, and giveaways. Parenting and family matters: Family Resources, 361 6th Ave. West, Bradenton, offers a variety of workshops, including “Relating to Your Teen: How to Improve Your Relationship,” free workshop and snack offered every Thursday 6-7:30 p.m.; crisis intervention, family assessments and individual, group and family counseling; voluntary pay; and individual, marital, group and family support counseling for children and their families confronting difficulties involving family separation and divorce. Free brain health seminars: The Senior Friendship Centers in Sarasota and Venice will hold free, educational programs called “Nutrition for Cognition” on Nov. 18 and 19. The programs will teach attendees about nutrition and the important part it plays in brain health. Lecture series for cancer patients: Blake Medical Center is offering a free lecture series developed by the American Cancer Society called “I Can Cope.” The classes cover a variety of topics for newly diagnosed cancer patients and their caregivers, including, defining cancer and its treatment options, nutrition, coping psychologically with the diagnosis, and more. Classes are held the first and third Thursday of the month through April from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Blake’s Cancer Resource Room, located in the Blake Medical Arts Building, Suite 3400. Lunch included.
