ANNA MARIA -- Congregations around the globe will celebrate World Communion Sunday, including Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria.
This Presbyterian church tradition began in 1936 and has grown into an international celebration of Christian unity.
All music for the 10 a.m. worship service will celebrate diversity and the unity of Christians around the world. The music is accompanied by acoustic piano and guitar, flute and light percussion. The chancel choir will also perform.
The sermon by Bob O'Keef titled "Living Sacrifices" will be taken from Romans 12:1-8. verses 4 and 5 state: "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." Communion will be served by intinction using different breads from around the world.
The community is invited. Bring the family, children will be dismissed after the children's message for their own special program.
Roser Community Church is a nondenominational Christian Church near Anna Maria City Pier on Historic Pine Avenue.
