Food Drive for Samoset Elementary: Living Lord Lutheran Church, 11107 Palmbrush Trail, Lakewood Ranch, is collecting food to distribute to families of Samoset Elementary School. The church collects peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, maseca flour, dried beans, rice, corn or canola oil, pasta sauce, spaghetti noodles, canned fruit and vegetables, and dried cereal. Feast of the Ascension: The Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, will celebrate the Feast of the Ascension.
