Children’s music: First United Methodist Church of Bradenton, 603 11th St. W., is offering an after-school program for children ages 8-12 to take daily music lessons. Local professional musicians are going to teach music one hour a day to children from local schools. Beginning Aug. 23 (from dismissal until 6 p.m.) the children will learn guitar, piano, voice, handbells and percussion. Bereavement Support: Temple Emanu-El and Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) announce a new partnership to help individuals struggling with grief and loss. A bereavement support group meets 10-11:30 a.m for six consecutive Wednesdays through Aug. 25. The group will meet at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, and will be facilitated by Rabbi Brenner Glickman and JFCS Jewish Healing Coordinator Susan Finkelstein.
