New Christmas Shop: The Congregational United Church of Christ Thrift Store’s new Christmas Shop is now open at 5324 26th St. W. , Bradenton. Jazz Trio: First United Methodist Church, 104 S. Dedication: Dedication of a Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, by the children, youth and parishioners of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 6600 Pennsylvania Ave., Sarasota. The shrine is located in front of the Faith Formation Center, facing Ninth Street East/Pennsylvania Avenue.
Nursery open: In the spirit of Christmas, Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 5115 Cortez Road W., Bradenton, will open its nursery to Bradenton’s children for a one-time Christmas gift to the community. Parents who need a baby sitter for an hour or two are invited to call 792-3497 for a reservation. The nursery will be 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, for children ages 6 months to 5 years of age. Due to limited size, a maximum of 10 children can be accommodated at one time. Advance reservations can be made by calling 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 9.
