Anniversary: The parishioners of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 6600 Pennsylvania Ave., Manatee County, are celebrating the church’s 50th anniversary. An anniversary Mass with Bishop Frank J. Dewane, of the Diocese of Venice, will be celebrated 4 p.m. on Oct. 10, followed by dinner/dance at the Palm Aire Country Club, beginning at 6 p.m. Other upcoming anniversary events include the dedication of a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe in December, the funds of which were raised by the children of the Faith Formation program and members of the parish.
