Dog won't stop barking? Throw a new eco-friendly bone its way and see what happens.

Canine toy retailer Planet Dog has expanded its popular recyclable toy line with Orbee-Tuff Regrind, a three-item set created using post-production materials from its award-winning Orbee-Tuff collection.

"We don't know of any other toy company that takes their leftover material and makes productive use of it," said Stephanie Volo, Planet Dog's top dog. "With so many of our top selling Orbee-Tuff toys out there, it is important for us to make them environment-friendly."

The Regrind line of tail-wagging products includes the RecycleBALL, RecycleBONE and RecycleBALL Three-Toys-in-One Value Pack, which is comprised of two RecycleBALLs tied together with an off-spec climbing rope provided by Planet Dog affiliate Sterling Rope.

The hard-wearing, chewy and bouncy Regrind toys are mint-scented, non-toxic and come in an assortment of colors that vary depending on the original line's excess materials. Purple, black, pale yellow and green, however, are frequently used.

The value pack's rope, which also serves as the "packaging," can be removed or retied to a RecycleBALL to make it a toss toy and its color, as with the Regrind products, are based on the recycled materials available during production.

Though all Orbee-Tuff toys are "extremely durable," some pups will chew through anything. In this event, customers can toss these toys back to Planet Dog to be recycled into new RecycleBALLs and RecycleBONEs.

Planet Dog is active in providing environmentally friendly products, committed to educating consumers about canine-related issues and proud to support, through its philanthropic Planet Dog Foundation, non-profit canine service programs across the country. Since January 2006, the foundation, which receives a percentage of every Planet Dog purchase, has donated more than $500,000 to programs that enable dogs to serve and support their owners and best friends.

"Our goal is for our actions to speak louder than woofs," Volo said.

Toys retail for $11.95-$14.95 and are available at www.planetdog.com.
