MANATEE -- About $11,000 in cash was stolen in a robbery outside a Bradenton gas station Wednesday afternoon, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
About 1:30 p.m. an employee was leaving the Sunoco station at 5912 15th St. E. when a suspect approached, grabbed a bank bag the employee was carrying and knocked her to the ground, according to a news release.
The suspect, described as being about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin build and in his late 20s or early 30s, then fled to a car parked about a block away. He was last seen wearing jeans, a bandanda and black t-shirt.
A witness saw the robbery and followed the suspect to near the intersection of 35th Avenue Drive East and Ninth Street East, the release said.
The victim was transported to Manatee Memorial hospital where she was begin treated for minor injuries as a result of her fall.
