MANATEE -- A Kmart pharmacy in Ellenton was robbed Wednesday by a man who demanded pills. Investigators believe the suspect is the same man who robbed a Sweetbay grocery store pharmacy last week, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, the suspect entered Kmart, 6110 U.S. 301, and handed an employee a note in which he demanded pills. He implied he was armed, but he did not display a weapon, according to a news release.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of pills.
A suspect used similar tactics during the May 19 robbery of a Sweetbay pharmacy in East Manatee.

"Detectives believe this is the same suspect," the release states.
The suspect Wednesday was described as being of average height and weight, and with facial hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved white and yellow checkered shirt, black shorts, a black cap and dark flip flops.
