Manatee’s unemployment rate dropped to 10.9 percent in March, according to figures released this morning by the state.
March’s rate is down from 11.3 in February and 12.2 percent a year ago.
The state’s rate was 11.1 percent, the lowest rate in more than a year.
Gov. Rick Scott, who made the announcement, said the rate was “still too high” but “headed in the right direction.”
Sarasota’s March rate was 10.8 percent, compared to 11.4 percent in February and 12 percent a year ago.
