Scouting Palmetto: The injury bug has bit the Tigers yet again, as offensive lineman Kevin O’Brien (broken leg) and running back Marquis Green (shin bruise) were hurt during last week’s loss to Charlotte. O’Brien, one of the experienced guys on the line, won’t return any time soon, but coach Dave Marino said Green is questionable. Freshman RB Josh Hicks (shoulder) is also out, but De’Quan Reddick (5.9 ypc, 3 TDs) is healthy, and should get a majority of the carries tonight. Palmetto needs to shore up its run defense, having surrendered 241.2 yards per game on the ground, and was burned last week by Mike Bellamy, one of the best backs in the country.
Scouting Riverview: It’s no secret the Rams can run — this is Riverview. But QB Tater Williams has been impressive, throwing for 640 yards and 8 TDs. John Evans has been solid running the ball, totaling 435 yards and 6 TDs. The Rams, who host Manatee next week in a key Class 5A-District 10 game, having surrendered more than 20 points in a game this year.
The score: Riverview 28, Palmetto 10.
