MANATEE — Times are tough even for pot growers.
A local business reported someone leaving the remains of a marijuana grow house in their dumpster without permission over the last four weeks, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report filed Monday.
Investigators tried to take fingerprints from the equipment left behind Lighting Construction Services, 6447 33rd St. E., but were unsuccessful.
The equipment was left in the dumpster and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Manatee County Solid Waste Division were notified.

Missing woman located
LAKEWOOD RANCH — A woman missing after a visit with relatives in Lakewood Ranch was located Monday in her home state, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Investigators located Charlotte R. Gately, 71, in Massachusetts, in good health a day after her family could not make contact with her since she left the Lakewood Ranch Country Club home of her daughter Saturday.
Gately had been visiting her daughter since December and decided to drive back to Massachusetts on Saturday as her family members tried to talk her out of it, according to the sheriff’s report. After two hours, she returned, saying she had gotten lost in Tampa. Gately then left again and could not be reached on her cell phone.
Sheriff’s spokesman Dave Bristow said detectives believe even though family members could not reach Gately during her trip, she was traveling but not in danger.
