Manatee residents Shawn Junker, Mark Smith and Curt Brown were busy bees Thursday, putting the final touches on a “haunted house” in the front yard of a home in the Westbrook II neighborhood of Creekwood.
The three men used to work together at Donzi boatbuilders. Brown owns the home; his sons, Russell and T.J., live there with Russell’s fiancee, Megan London.
This will be the haunted house’s second year in Creekwood; they did it for eight years prior in Braden River Lakes.
This year’s version at 7806 50th Place E. is complete with strobe lights, blood-marred dummies, red-water-filled bathtubs and a chainsaw-wielding Curt Brown.
Never miss a local story.
“We’ve been told it’s scarier than Busch Gardens (Howl-O-Scream),” said Smith.
Today’s fun begins at dark.
