MANATEE — A Manatee man told deputies he was robbed by a man he knew as “Santa Claus” and two other men, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The 51-year-old victim said he met a woman named “Candy” at a local bar, and brought her to his trailer in the 5900 block of 14th Street West, where they had sex. Later, Candy” introduced him to Santa Claus, and on Sunday, Santa Claus brought the two other men to the victim’s trailer to hang out, the sheriff’s office said.
Santa Claus and the two other men then began hitting and kicking the victim until he passed out. They then took his wallet.
For the next several hours, the victim’s debit card was used at several businesses along 14th Street West, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim was left with a black eye, but he did not require medical treatment.
Woman charged with sexual battery of kids
MANATEE — A Manatee woman has been arrested on sexual battery and lewd exhibition charges after an 8-year-old boy and his 7-year-old sister told authorities she molested the girl, performed sex acts in front of them and also molested their 2-year-old sister.
Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reports say Tawnya Rae Burrows, 30, often had care of the children while their father was away, the sheriff’s report said.
The girl also told authorities Burrows put on a pornographic movie in front of the children, the sheriff’s report said.
Detectives arrested Burrows on Saturday on three counts of sexual battery, four counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition and a count of introduction of obscene material to a minor.
She was being held in the Manatee County jail on $71,000 bond.
FHP searching for hit-and-run driver
MANATEE — Troopers are searching for the driver of a car who fled from the scene of a crash that left two injured, including a motorcyclist hospitalized in serious condition, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
At about 4 p.m. Sunday, troopers say the driver of a gold passenger vehicle clipped the back of a trailer being pulled by a 2008 Ford pickup, causing the truck to spin out on U.S. 301 just north of 63rd Avenue East.
The truck spun from the right lane into the left lane of U.S. 301, causing the driver of a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle to take evasive action and slam into a concrete median. The Parrish driver of the truck had minor injuries, while the motorcyclist from Orlando was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in serious condition.
Troopers say the driver of the car that caused the crash sped north on U.S. 301. Witnesses described the car as gold with front-end damage from the crash.

FHP seeks identity of driver
MANATEE — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver critically injured in a crash on Interstate 75, according to a FHP report.
Troopers say at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, the driver of a 1999 Mercury four-door car was heading north on I-75 when a tire on the vehicle separated. The driver lost control of the car and it slammed into a concrete pillar of an overpass at Linger Lodge Road in Manatee.
The driver, who was airlifted from the crash in critical condition, has not been identified, according to the FHP report.

Woman charged with punching officer
BRADENTON BEACH — A Bradenton woman has been arrested on a charge of punching a Bradenton Beach police officer in the face during questioning on a motorist’s complaint she threw a stick at his car. Police arrested Morgan A. Woodland, 24, on Saturday in the 100 block of Cortez Road, after an officer said she punched him, according to a Bradenton Beach Police Department report.
Woodland was being held on $1,500 bond.
