MANATEE — Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a Manatee bank this afternoon, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
It is the fourth time since September that someone has robbed the Fifth Third bank branch at the southeast corner of 26th Street West and 53rd Avenue West. Authorities said today's robber may have been the same man who hit the bank on April 28.
Detectives say just before 11 a.m., an armed man, wearing a gray polo shirt and a red and black baseball hat, walked into the bank and demanded money, the sheriff’s report said.
The man was given cash, which the suspect stuffed in a white bag before fleeing in a white full size van.
Detectives said the man used a black revolver in the robbery. There were no injuries.
The other two robberies were on Sept. 4 and Nov. 29. Arrests were made in both of those cases.
Anyone with information on the most recent robbery can call the sheriff’s office at (941) 747-3011, or Crimestoppers at (866) 634-TIPS.
