Celebrate an arts weekend at The Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts and the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance at the TBBCA Chalk Walk at the SPF 15, St. Petersburg Festival Celebration of the Arts 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 26-27. Watch talented commissioned artists bring amazing chalk drawing to life. Visitors get a chance to see the way this arts is produced in all stages of progress. The Manatee County Historical Commission will host its fifth annual "Spirit Voices Of Old Manatee," an outdoor drama and cemetery tour 7 p.m. Oct. 1-4, 8-11, and 15-18. The event will feature performances by costumed actors portraying early settlers interred in the 1850 Manatee Burying Grounds with riveting graveside stories evolving from archives, descendants, diaries, military logs, books and legend. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. The Oct. 18 will take place in the historic Old Meeting House Church for those who prefer a seated performance. The area's only in-water show and official kick-off to fall boating season will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 2-3 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 4 featuring the industry's newest boats and accessories, and aquatic attractions for all ages. There will be a fishing center for angling enthusiasts, boating workshops and hands-on clinics with topics ranging from docking and boating safety to open water boat handling and anchoring, and boat maintenance, repair and upgrade techniques. The 29th annual Taste of Manatee will be 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 3 and noon-6 p.m. Oct. 4 featuring a large number of local restaurants offering their finest preparations for the public to sample. There will be live music from area bands, including a performance by former American Idol participant Sam Woolf, car shows, arts and crafts, and a children's amusement area with rides and other activities. Ghost Spirit and Orb Walks: Bunker Hill Vineyards and Winery, 8905 Bunker Hill Road, Duette
Bunker Hill Vineyard will host "Spirit and Orb Walks" 8 p.m. Oct. 17. Guests are asked to bring cameras with a night flash, EVP recorders, EMF recorders, digital temperature recorders, and extra batteries. Guests must arrive by 7:30 p.m. for a 30 minute indoctrination and discussion of the night's walk and activities. The "Spirit & Orb Walks" will begin promptly at 8 p.m. and will last until 9:30 p.m. Good, closed toes, walking shoes, long pants and a jacket are encouraged. Since these walks will take place at night on both level and non-level ground, participants should be in good physical shape. Cost: $10.
