Capobianco's 14th annual Party for the Animals "Cause for Paws": Capobianco's 14th annual Party for the Animals "Cause for Paws" will be 6:30-10:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at 5211 21st Ave. W., Bradenton. This year's event will be a star-studded event as Manatee County's top restaurants will compete in a celebrity judged cook-out providing samples for guests to vote for the "Peoples Choice Award." There will be an open bar, prize drawings and an auction. Entertainment will be provided by Blue Mason Barter. Instead of a bag of food, your donation of a minimum of $25 will be taken at the door or in advance. Proceeds will benefit Manatee County's animal shelters. "Brushes with Greatness: VIP Beauty Breakfast": Art Center Sarasota and Saks Fifth Avenue will celebrate the arts and Saks Fifth Avenue's "Beauty Week" with "Brushes With Greatness," a day of art, beauty and pampering 9-10:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at Saks Fifth Avenue at The Mall at University Town Center, 81 N. Cattlemen Road, Sarasota. The breakfast, provided by Sophie's Saks Fifth Avenue continues in the beauty department for post-makeover portraits. Guest will receive a complimentary tote bag with a $150 beauty purchase. VIP breakfast tickets are $100 and include a $50 gift card to be used toward purchases made in Saks' beauty department that day. Manatee River Garden Club "Goin' to the Dogs" Flower Show and "Paws in the Park" Dog Parade: The Manatee River Garden Club will host a "Goin' to the Dogs" standard flower show 1-4 p.m. Nov. 7 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 8 at 3120 First Ave. W., Bradenton. The "dog" themed flower show will feature judged flower, horticultural and special exhibits. A "Paws in the Park" dog parade, dog trials, dog adoptions and other events for dogs are scheduled for Saturday. Hot dogs and refreshments will be available for purchase. American Diabetes Association Community 5K/1-Mile Walk: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota will host its first American Diabetes Association Community 5K/1-Mile Walk 9 a.m. Nov. 8 at 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The first 100 walkers to sign up will receive a T-shirt. Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld will welcome attendees. Registration: $5 donation. All Faiths Food Bank "Bowls of Hope": All Faiths Food Bank will host its annual signature luncheon "Bowls of Hope" 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Phillippi Estate Park, 5700 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Guests can enjoy the estate grounds as they browse hundreds of ceramic bowls created by local artists, selecting one to take home. Close to 40 local restaurants have donated soup for the luncheon and attendees will have the opportunity to taste three kinds before selecting a bowl of their favorite for lunch. Annual Taste Of Crew On The River: The Manatee County Youth Rowing will host the third annual Taste of Crew On the River 6-9 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Fort Hamer Boat House at Fort Hamer Park at the end of Fort Hamer Road in Parrish. The event features samplings of tasty tapas and other treats prepared by area restaurants and eateries. The outside area at the boat ramp will be decorated with tiki torches and there will be live music and a bonfire. High School athletes from Palmetto, Manatee and Southeast High as well as the athletes from the newly formed Middle School program will show off their racing equipment and boats. Tickets: $20-$25.
