Barber academy gives cuts to kids
I would like to thank J.D. Byrider Autos and Nick Kodrea for holding the second annual "Cuts for Kids" at Real Vision Barber Academy. These haircuts were provided by J.D. Byrider Autos of Bradenton. Each year, this event has highlighted the overwhelming need we have in our community to assist our children in getting ready for the new school year. Thanks to this event, sponsored by J.D. Byrider, dozens of children went to school with a new professional haircut from my wonderful students.
I am very proud of my student stylists, who worked on their day off to help our community's children. The extra work it provided for my students will be very beneficial in their learning process.
The children enjoyed the coupons and toys that were given out by McDonald's and Chick-fil-A, and I would be remiss if I did not thank our local pastors who helped spread the word.
Never miss a local story.
I would also like to bestow a big thank-you to the Bradenton Herald for again giving us such a gracious news article, along with Bay News 9's coverage.
I am looking forward to doing this highly successful event again next year and making it bigger and better.

Reader applauds Gator Air
I am writing to recognize Gator Air Conditioning for their excellent service and professionalism. As a fellow Chamber of Commerce member, I reached out to Gator Air Conditioning to ask for assistance for a family in need. I had recently heard they had won business of the year at Manatee Chamber of Commerce and though I would ask for their assistance. Their quick response to my request was very impressive. Not only was staff knowledgeably and friendly, an estimate was made in a timely manner. Next, Gator Air Conditioning "worked with" this family and made sure their needs were met. I am very impressed with Gator Air Conditioning and will definitely continue to tell my friends and other community member of this wonderful company.

Kind person returns phone
This is a grateful thank-you for finding my phone on Creekwood Boulevard and placing it on my enclosed porch. I so wish I could thank you in person and tell you how grateful I am. Thank you, again!

Valiant efforts appreciated
On Oct. 1 a call was placed to 911. We wish to thank the dispatcher, firemen, EMS responders and the ER nurses and doctors at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Each person worked diligently trying to help Ed. All their valiant efforts are appreciated but Our Lord had other plans.
A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Wilkinson, the Cobbs, Abbotts, Prices and to the following ministers who called immediately and prayed with me: Dr. J. Phillip Hamm, Alan James and Bob and Patty Allen. Also to Will Hutchings of Shannon Funeral Home.
Finally, thank you to those who have come by, called, emailed and sent cards. Your support is greatly appreciated. Ed was a humble man and would have been surprised to know so many kind words are being said about him.
