HealthSouth Rehabilitation third annual Classic Car Sow: 6400 Edgelake Drive, Sarasota
During National Rehabilitation Week former HealthSouth Sarasota patients, their families and the public are invited to the HealthSouth third annual Classic Car Show 6-8 p.m. Sept. 26 featuring an array of classic cars, classic rock music played by Candy Girls of WSRZ, an on-site flu-shot clinic, a prize drawing and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. 10th annual Paint the Town "Quick Draw" and "KidsCreate": Riverwalk along the Manatee River, Bradenton
Watch artists of all levels painting on location at the 10th annual Paint the Town "Quick Draw" 10 a.m.-noon and in "KidsCreate," in which ArtCenter Manatee KidsArt instructors will guide children ages 6-16 on the art of outdoor painting at Riverwalk Park, 9-11 a.m. Sept. 27. During "Quick Draw" artists will complete their work in two hours and will exhibit and sell their work 1-2 p.m. at ArtCenter Manatee, 209 Ninth St. W., Bradenton
Participating children in "KidsCreate" will utilize the beauty of the waterfront park where they will learn tricks and techniques of this painting style. Children will be provided with paint, canvas and brushes. Refreshments will be served. Sidewalk Astronomy: 8141 Main Street, Lakewood Ranch
The local group of Deep Sky Observers, a Manatee/Sarasota group of astronomy enthusiasts, will offer the public a chance to view spectacular celestial sights through their high-powered telescopes 7-10 p.m. Sept. 27, weather permitting. A Spirit and Orb Walk is offered 8 p.m. Oct. 18. Due to the "paranormal" nature of these walk, reservations are required and are limited to a maximum of 25 adults, ages 18 and older.
