If you're in the mood for a concert full of catchy pop music with uplifting lyrics sung by attractive young people, you're going to want to head to Bradenton Christian School this evening.
Two young Christian-oriented groups -- 1 Girl Nation and the Oswald Brothers Band (also known simply as OBB) -- will perform at the school beginning at 7 p.m.
They're touring the country with their "While We're Young" tour, which takes its name from the first single by 1 Girl Nation.
Both these bands are relatively new, and if you don't follow contemporary Christian music you might not be familiar with them.
Never miss a local story.
But they're both pretty big deals among followers of the genre. 1 Girl Nation's self-titled debut album came out right around this time last year, and made it to No. 11 on the Billboard Christian chart, and No. 2 on the "Heatseekers" chart, which tracks new bands.
They started out as a quintet, but one member has left the group so they're continuing with four members, two of whom are from Florida.
The three Oswald Brothers range in age from 18 to 21 and released their first EP last year. They gained a large following when they were part of Winter Jam, a huge Christian music tour.
