Stone crab Thursdays: A Celebration of the Crustacean will take place every Thursday night during stone crab season at The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort dining room on Longboat Key. The restaurant offers a special 1-pound cracked claw dinner including choice of Caesar and house salad and a glass of The Colony’s private label red or white wine or a 3-course sensational Stone Crab Lover’s Dinner each for $39.95. Wine events

Halloween Spooktacular wine tasting: The Waterfront Restaurant, 111 S. Bay Blvd., Anna Maria. is holding a Halloween Spooktacular wine tasting from 5:3- to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Tasting Witch’s Brew, Vampire Wines and Dracula Wines. There will be a costume contest with gift certificate and wine giveaways. The chef is making some creepy appetizers a la “Fear Factor” as well. Freedom Village Grape Escape: The second annual Freedom Village wine tasting by executive chef Luciano Silva and Southern Wine & Spirits is 5:30-7:30 Oct. 29. Freedom Village is at 6406 21st Ave. W., Bradenton. Cost: 20. A portion of the proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter. RSVP to 798-8122.

Weekly wine tasting: Harry’s Continental Kitchens, 525 St. Jude’s Drive, Longboat Key, will hold wine tasting events 5-7 p.m. Thursdays. Cost: $10, proceeds to benefit local charities. Mattison’s Riverside: 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton, hosts Tuesday Tasting 5-7 p.m., offering the opportunity to sample a variety of wines from a featured vineyard, varietals or regional.
