Are you ready for an enhanced library experience? This week, on Oct. 1, we're rolling out a new online catalog that has wonderful new features you're sure to love. When you log on to the new catalog to browse for an item, you'll be greeted by gorgeous book covers as if you were browsing our collection in person.
Struggling to keep track of all the books you've read, especially in a long series? With the new catalog, you can save your personal reading history so you can easily check back to see what you've read before.
Have you ever checked out a great book that you want to take out again but can't remember the title? In the new catalog you can create reading lists, such as "Great Southern Cookbooks" or "Funny Animal Books" or even a wish list of future books to read.
Is your phone an extension of yourself? Searching the new catalog on a smart device is a breeze. You can request and renew items right on your phone, and you can text yourself call numbers of items. And after you check out or renew items, we'll text you your due dates.
Never miss a local story.
Our new catalog has a section just for kids. In the Kids Catalog your children, grandchildren,
or students can have fun finding books on topics including animals, sports, and holidays. The Kid's Catalog only has children's items, so your kids can search away for age-appropriate reads.
Do you know anyone who speaks Spanish? With one click of a button on your computer our new catalog can be flipped over to Spanish for easy browsing.
Do you have occasional overdue fines? No problem! You can now easily pay your fines online and be back to using the library in no time.
The new catalog is very intuitive, but if you need help, each of our six branches will have classes on how to use it. If you can't make a class, you can always ask a librarian for a quick crash course. You will use the same library barcode number and PIN to log into the new catalog.
Our new catalog is a powerful piece of software, and Stephen King and the Manatee Library Foundation were instrumental in helping raise funds for it through their "Evening with Stephen King" event. We are very grateful to Stephen King, the Library Foundation, and everyone who attended the event!
On Oct. 1, go online or come to the library to check out our new, enhanced catalog system!
