Longboat Key Freedom Fest Parade: Starts at 9 a.m. Friday at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road. No fireworks.
Sarasota Sailing Squadron’s Liberty Day Regatta and Family Festival: From 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday at 1717 Ken Thompson Parkway on City Island.
Palmetto’s Fourth of July Celebration and Free Concert: Begins at 4 p.m. Friday at Lamb and Sutton Park, 1006 Sixth St. W., Palmetto, food vendors and a $5 VIP section at stagefront for 9 p.m. concert with “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery, The Jake Castro Band and goodBye eddie, free seating. Bradenton, Palmetto and Manatee County combine for fireworks show over the Manatee River post-concert.
Anna Maria Island Privateers Annual Fourth of July Parade: Begins at 10 a.m. Friday, Coquina Beach, 2650 Gulf Drive, Bradenton Beach, more than 100 participants expected, after parade go to Cafe on the Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, from noon to 4 p.m. for live music, food and drinks.
Music on Main Concert with Smokey’s Session: Lakewood Ranch Main Street, 6-9 p.m. on Main Street, proceeds benefit Lakewood Ranch Community Fund.
Tropical Sarasota Fourth of July: Begins at 6 p.m. Friday at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, barbecue and ice cream. Set up chairs on the grounds to catch the Bayfront Fireworks, which begin at 9 p.m. Cost $17 for members and $20 non-members.
Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration and Pig Roast: Pier 22 Restaurant, 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton, 6 p.m. Friday. Cost is $69.95 for adults and $19.95 for children younger than 12, for seating along the Manatee River for the Manatee County fireworks. Information: 941-748-8087.
28th Annual Sandbar Fireworks Spectacular: Starts at sunset Friday by Creative Pyrotechnics at The Sandbar Restaurant, 100 Spring Ave., Anna Maria. Park at Crosspoint Fellowship Church or use the trolley. Free seating on first-come, first serve basis on outside deck at Sandbar. . For $125 per seat, the Sandbar offers an upscale buffet, specialty drinks, beer and wine, party favors, music and seating in the Sandbar Event Pavilion for the fireworks. Information: 941-778-8709.
Annual Fourth of July Fireworks on Siesta Key: Launched just after dark Friday north of the volleyball courts on Siesta Key. A crowd near 40,000 is expected. Sarasota also hosts a Suncoast Offshore Fireworks Spectacular, best seen at Sarasota’s Bayfront Park and Island Park.
