The Sarasota Succulent Society gardens are open 9 a.m.-noon Jan. 17 and every third Saturday of the month. The secret garden, hidden away on the grounds of a historic 1938 depression era house is home to rare and exotic succulents from around the world with a Sarasota history dating back to 1950. The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center will be hosting free “Scene on the Green” screenings of a series of classic movies outside on a massive 20-foot-by-11-foot inflatable screen, featuring the 1960 version of “Ocean’s 11” on Jan. 9, “Fiddler on the Roof” Feb. 13, and “Annie” March 13.
