MANATEE — Bayshore High School JROTC will participate in an Area 5 Raider competition Saturday. The competition will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Camp Flying Eagle, 16009 Upper Manatee River Road.

Host families sought for exchange program

MANATEE — Cultural Academic Student Exchange, a nonprofit organization, is seeking host families in Manatee for exchange students.

The families would begin hosting in January, said Debbie Rich, a CASE area representative.

The students, ages 15-18, will stay January through June. Each student will have pocket money, medical insurance and will attend the nearest public school to the host family. Hosts provide room and board.

Candy wanted for troops at Palma Sola Elementary

BRADENTON — Palma Sola Elementary is collecting candy for operation gratitude to send overseas to the troops. The last of the collections will take place today. To donate, drop candy at the school, 6806 5th Ave. NW, Bradenton, or call (941) 741-3181.

Math night at Harllee slated for Nov. 12

Fall fest performance set for Saturday

MANATEE — The primary and intermediate choruses, second-grade violins, Cha-Cha Dancers, string ensemble and Daughtrey Dancers from Daughtrey Preparatory School of Arts and Sciences will perform at noon Saturday at the South County CRA Fall Fest.
