World War II Veteran presentation: The Palmetto Historical Commission is sponsoring a special presentation beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 at Palmetto Historical Park, 515 10th Ave. W., Palmetto, featuring World War II Veteran Don Flowers speaking about his experience as a pilot as well as the purchase of a P47D Thunderbolt made possible by the sale of war bonds by Palmetto school students in 1943 and 1944. Artists wanted: Gulf Shore Animal League of Manatee County is looking for artists to participate in “Art in the Garden,” which will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 6. Artist can offer their original artwork for sale in a beautiful outdoor garden. Booth fee is $25 and will go toward the care, feeding and medical needs of rescued animals.
