Homeowners Choice, Inc., a Florida-based insurance company, announced that the common shares and warrants underlying its units will begin separate trading today on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker symbols "HCII" and "HCIIW" and the units, which previously traded under the ticker symbol "HCIIU," will cease to exist.
Winn-Dixie disaster relief
MANATEE - Winn-Dixie Stores will be collecting donations to assist the American Red Cross' disaster relief fund.
All 521 stores will be participating in a Neighbors Helping Neighbors program to provide funds for food, shelter and counseling in areas affected by storms. The Red Cross is hoping to raise $100 million for the disaster relief fund.
Customers can donate at store registers.
Adjuster, service classes
LAKEWOOD RANCH - Insurance classes to prepare students to seek licenses are being offered at Manatee Community College Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East.
Accredited claims adjuster and registered customer service classes are offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday from Oct. 14 through 17. The fee for each course is $349.

CEOs' compensation cut
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The federal government will not pay the ousted chief executives of mortgage finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac up to $24 million in exit packages.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency notified former Fannie Mae CEO Daniel Mudd and former Freddie Mac CEO Richard Syron that such "golden parachute" payments will not be paid.
