Company wins $15M general contracting job
Kellogg & Kimsey Inc. of Sarasota has been selected as the general contractor for the $15 million Concession Golf Clubhouse.
The clubhouse will be 33,000 square feet and feature verandas, a pro shop, locker rooms, card and billiard rooms, and a golf practice area. Kellogg & Kimsey received the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange Contractor of the Year award in 2005.
Golf academy launches resume Web site
The David Leadbetter Golf Academy at IMG has recently launched a new resume site - www.imgaresumes.com - to help promote its student athletes to golf recruiters around the world.
In the past decade, more than 100 American Junior Golf Association All-Americans, seven players of the year, three Nancy Lopez Award winners, two sportsmanship award winners, two United States Amateur Champions and two United States Girls' Junior Champions have trained at the academy.
New Web site to raise red-tide awareness
Digital Alchemy, LLC., a Sarasota-based graphic and web design firm, recently completed construction of a Web site for Red Tide Wear clothing intended to help fund red tide research.
The new Web site, www.RedTideWear.com, is intended to raise awareness of the importance of addressing the issue of red tide in the Gulf of Mexico. The site will direct those interested in Red Tide Wear to local retailers carrying the T-shirts and also features a blog about red tide along with local fishing and water-sports related activities.
$1,200 raised for deceased co-worker's family
The employees at Administrative Concepts Corp. are helping raise money for the family of Raymond Neumann, the petroleum hauler who was involved in the I-75 and U.S. 301 crash near Ellenton.
Sarah Pewterbaugh, sales coordinator, and Katherine Rothe, business consultant, coordinated a company-wide raffle selling 240 tickets, resulting in a $1,200 donation for the family. Several prizes were awarded, including two $250 Visa gift cards, a manicure and a pedicure from Divine Touch Nail salon in Bradenton, and dinner for two at MarVista on Longboat Key.

Construction company scores improvement bid
Zirkelbach Construction has been selected to complete interior improvements for the Surgery Center at Pointe West which will be operated by Coastal Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. The facility will be at 1917 Worth Court in Lakewood Ranch and will be Coastal's fourth facility.

150-ton steel structure
Trident Building Systems, Inc. in Bradenton has contracted with Tandem Construction, Inc. to manufacture and erect the 150-ton structural steel package for the 1930 Ringling Office Park project in Sarasota.
