MANATEE — An evidentiary hearing in the Coast Bank case involving former executive Philip Coon will be held Dec. 7, according to a court notice filed Monday.
Coon’s sentencing hearing will now be held the week of Jan. 25-29, according to an order from Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich.
On Wednesday, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida granted the government’s motion to reschedule evidentiary and sentencing hearings in Coon’s case.
U.S. Attorney A. Brian Albritton asked to continue the hearings to give First Bank, formerly Coast Bank, more time to obtain and review subpoenaed records, which are essential for the government to make a decision on restitution.
