Cleaning Butlers picks up accounts, adds jobs
LAKEWOOD RANCH — Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota, a commercial and residential cleaning business, has secured 80 new accounts in four months and have added 20 new jobs.
Cleaning Butlers is selling unit franchises in the Sarasota and Manatee markets and plans to expand throughout the state by fall of 2010.
Gibraltar Homes closes 3Q with strong gross sales
MANATEE — Gibraltar Homes posted 10 sales over the last 60 days representing nearly $7 million in gross sales for the company during the third quarter. This number represents an average of $700,000 per home. Sales activity was brisk in each community where Gibraltar Homes is building, including Country Club East at Lakewood Ranch, Legends Bay and Legends Cove at IMG Academies and Bougainvillea Place in Ellenton.
Saunders launches short sale division
SARASOTA — Michael Saunders & Co. has formed a short sale division.
Cristy Carrington Lewis is the lead account manager and has previously worked at a Sarasota law firm on short sales and was an assistant Sarasota County attorney specializing in contracts and transactional law.
Cracker Barrel hands out USF scholarships
MANATEE — Cracker Barrel Old Country Store made a gift to the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee to award scholarships to students in the school of hotel and restaurant management.
The scholarships are given to hospitality management majors who have a financial need and a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
SchenkelShultz ranked No. 1 in design firms
SARASOTA — The Sarasota office of SchenkelShultz Architecture was ranked as the top educational facilities architect among Southeast Construction magazine’s 2009 Top Design Firms. The firm reported $18.2 million in educational facilities design for projects in the Southeast.
Southeast Construction also ranks the firm 13th largest in its general building category and 28th largest overall in the Southeast.
Hostetter to design and build Bennett Park
MANATEE — Hostetter Construction has been awarded a contract to design and build phase I of Bennett Park for Manatee County. The park, at State Road 64 and I-75, consists of approximately 180 acres. Phase I will provide approximately 1.5 miles of nature/interpretive trails, a canoe/kayak launch, a fishing pier, sand volleyball courts, a soccer field, two playgrounds as well as a picnic pavilion and maintenance facility. Design is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2010. Collaborating with Hostetter Construction on this project are Ruben Holland Development, Kimley-Horn and Associates and Turner Tree and Landscaping.
