PALMETTO — A local real-estate agency has changed its name.
Keller Williams Realty of Greater Manatee is now Keller Williams on the Water, said Joanne Owens, operating principal/broker.
“We’ve been using the On the Water in our logo since we opened our doors in 2006 and it’s what people identify us with,” she said. “We decided to make the change to clearly identify us with our location on the Manatee River and the Gulf Coast of Florida.”

CEO confidence surges in second quarter
NEW YORK — The Conference Board Measure of CEO Confidence, which had increased in the first quarter of 2009, surged in the second quarter.
The survey of 100 business leaders in a wide range of industries improved to 55, up from 30 last quarter. A reading of more than 50 points reflects more positive than negative responses.
“CEOs are considerably more optimistic than last time about the short-term outlook, however, their assessment of current conditions, while also improved, suggests the economy remains weak,” says Lynn Franco, director of The Conference Board Consumer Research Center.
