Richard Geib has joined Real Estate Finance as a licensed loan originator in Bradenton. Geib will be responsible for originating purchase and refinance home mortgages for the regional mortgage lender based in Suwanee, Ga.

Linda Heath has joined Wagner Realty in its State Road 64 East office. She previously was principal of Linda Heath Commercial Realty Inc. in Tampa, and has worked with Trammel Crow Company and Insignia Financial Group Inc.

David Teitelbaum was named the Anna Maria Island Businessperson of the Year by the Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island at the Island Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet recently.

The chamber handed out awards for businesses of the year in three categories. Laura Shely, owner of the Tide and Moon gift shop took the small business award, noting that she had moved the location of her store and increased her sales. John and Barbara Jaeger accepted the award for the best medium sized business as owners of Egret’s Landing. Ed Chiles of The Chiles Group received the large business award.

Lorraine Livingston of Proeger & Associations, Inc. has been accepted as a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.

Proeger & Associates provides consultation to families of older or disabled persons in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Patricia Valenti, owner of Evolution Fitness Club, placed second in the 2009 International Federation of Body Builders/National Physique Committee Fort Lauderdale Cup Figure and Body Building Competition. She is now qualified to compete nationally.

Michael Stone, business banker for Fifth Third Bank, has recently joined the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton.

Dr. Denise Baker, Barbara Massey and Susie Lynch of Emily Kuiken Medical Spa attended the International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference in Fort Lauderdale recently.

Judy Arreola and Kristina Talkie have joined Michael Saunders and Co.’s Siesta Key office. Arreola had worked at the company 23 years. Talkie has been a licensed real estate agent since 2003.

Mary Bellows has been promoted to manager of On A Shoestring. She is a recent graduate of Manatee High School, where she was a member of the track and field team. Sayiuri Beretta has been promoted to assistant manager. She is a 2006 graduate of Lakewood Ranch High School and ran three years of track and two years of cross country at Manatee High School.

Staci Cross, chief information officer for the City of Bradenton, was named the CIO of the Year by the Tampa Bay Technology Forum during its sixth annual Industry Achievement Awards ceremony recently.

The awards celebrate the excellence and leadership of technology companies and individuals in the Tampa Bay area.

Medical Economics magazine has recognized Margery K. Schiller, a certified financial planner with the Sarasota CPA firm of Goar, Endriss & Walker P.A., for her expertise in handling the needs of physicians by naming her to their “150 Best Financial Planners for Doctors” list.

Andrew Hall of AT&T has been appointed as the new area director of legislative and external affairs for West Florida as well as the local executive for Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.

Jimmy Wright will serve as tournament director of The Concession Golf Club. He will help organize large-scale events and promote the club and the Sarasota/Bradenton area to potential members.

Local builders who attended the Design Build Institute of America’s National Conference were David E. Sessions, president of Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc., Fred Cavaluzzi, vice president and Warren G. Simonds, vice president and chief marketing officer. Simonds is one of only 702 building professionals in the U.S. to achieve the design/build professional designation.

John Ferraro, the lead instructor in Manatee Technical Institute’s air conditioning, refrigeration and heating technology program, won second place in the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration NEWS 10th Annual HVACR Instructor of the Year contest.

Ferraro was nominated by one of his students.

Dr. Christopher R. Forzo, a Lakewood Ranch-based, board certified, fellowship trained, orthopaedic/upper extremity surgeon with the Orthopaedic Center of Southwest Florida, recently earned his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand.
