Mike Moschella has been named BB&T’s area executive for Manatee County. He will oversee the daily operations and nearly 60 employees at BB&T’s 11 Manatee County locations.

Moschella previously served as BB&T’s area executive, or market leader, for Sarasota County.

Geri Kenyon has been awarded the 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Florida state chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors. The annual award recognizes a member who fully exercises their potential as an entrepreneur and real estate industry leader and who shares their time, talent and expertise with others in the profession and in their community.

Marilyn Trevethan has been named top listing agent and Liz Blandford and Kathleen White have been named top sales agents for the month of September at Island Real Estate of Anna Maria Island, Inc.

Jim Soda of Prudential Palms Realty has been accepted as a member of the Top 5 in Real Estate Network. The network helps buyers and sellers identify the most professional real estate agents in North America. To qualify, each member must first meet a stringent set of criteria, based upon performance, educational and professional skills, and service to the consumer.

William Bullock has been appointed vice president of Minto Communities. With more than 15 years of experience in the management, acquisition and development of real estate properties, Bullock will be responsible for focusing on growing Minto’s West Central office within the Orlando, Tampa and Naples markets. Additionally, he will manage the operations at Minto’s latest acquisition – Perico Island in Bradenton.

Amy Tuck Farrington, Dr. Lou Bertha V. McKenzie-Wharton and Fernando Viteri have been appointed to the board of directors of the Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center.

Farrington is an attorney with Dent and Johnson. She formerly directed the Division of Elections for the Department of State. McKenzie-Wharton worked in the field of education for almost 50 years, including as a teacher/administrator for the Chicago Public School System. Viteri is a certified international property specialist, ranked in the top 1 percent of Sarasota’s Realtors.

Michael Burton of WilsonMiller’s Palmetto office has been recognized as a certified environmental professional by the Academy of Board Certified Environmental Professionals.

Dr. Walter Moscoso of the Manatee Sarasota Eye Clinic has been chosen as the host of METV’s new eye care show Eye Care for You. The show will explore topics in eye care that include health, disease, injury, aging, among many others, and will include guest physicians and specialists in the Manatee Sarasota area.

Wanda Read-Burke of Bradenton has been appointed to the Manatee Early Learning Coalition for a term beginning Oct. 16 and ending April 30, 2011. Read-Burke is a community relations representative with Florida Blood Services.

Lea Smith Johnson, a financial adviser with Financial Services Corp., recently attended the National Education and Business Conference in Atlanta.

Dr. David Zamikoff has been awarded the status of diplomate of the American Academy of Medical and Legal Professionals. Dr. Zamikoff is director of Natural Healing Arts Medical Center in Bradenton and Sarasota.
