Whidden, a 17-year PGA professional, has an extensive teaching background and has worked at University Park Country Club, Quail West Golf and Country Club, Naples, The Breakers, Palm Beach, and The Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo.

Bruce Garlitz has been named mortgage loan officer for HomeBanc. He is based in the bank’s Lakewood Ranch office. Garlitz has more than 16 years of mortgage banking experience.

Elaine Stoll has joined SunTrust as a vice president and branch manager at the Lakewood Ranch Office. Stoll will be responsible for building relationships in the Lakewood Ranch market, business development and overseeing day to day operations. She have more than 12 years of banking experience.

A new board of directors has been elected to The Elegant Sarasota Weddings Network. They are Craig Wicks, Elaine Cordeau and Nancy Taussig. Elegant Sarasota Weddings is a networking group serving the bridal industry and performing special events.
