BRADENTON -- Chaos erupted this afternoon after a man with a gunshot wound was driven to Manatee Memorial Hospital about 3 p.m.
The man, identified as Nathaniel Young, 21, was shot in the leg in the Bradenton Village housing development, near Third Street West and 16th Avenue West, according to Bradenton Police.
He was in stable condition. At least one suspect was at large near 4 p.m.
There was an assault weapon in the vehicle that was used to drive Young to the hospital at First Street and Manatee Avenue East.
Yellow police tape surrounded the vehicle and blocked access to the emergency room at the hospital about 3:15 p.m. There was an ambulance parked in the canopy behind the tape.
